halloween!

SUPER SISTERS! i wanted a girl power theme this year, something different from the princess theme which we've done. i had a lot of fun putting these costumes together and the girls enjoyed getting into character. tim and i even had superhero shirts, too. i did have an eye mask thing similar to hannah's for libby but she wouldn't keep it on, so we improvised with sunglasses (which libby LOVES to wear).

hannah was so excited to trick-or-treat. she said she wanted me and tim to stay home so that she could go with just her friends. but we all went together, and it didn't take long for libby to catch on. she went up to the doors with the group of girls and said "treat," followed by "thank you." afterward, we stayed up a little late and watched it's the great pumpkin, charlie brown while eating a few pieces of candy.

pumpkin painting

hannah LOVES coloring and painting so much that this year she decided it'd be more fun to paint our pumpkins than to carve them. sounded easier to me, too, so i was happy to get out the paints and paintbrushes. hannah painted some pretty flowers on hers, and libby made pretty color swirls.

rock ranch

we went to rock ranch today, which is a giant piece of land in a remote area of georgia that's owned by the founder of chick-fil-a. it was another trip with hope and nicole. there was SO much stuff out there for the girls to do. we stayed all afternoon and just barely fit in all the things we wanted to do. there was a train, a tiny town, jumpy houses, a corn kernel house, a zip line, bikes and go-carts, a petting zoo, pony rides, water boats, a mini cow train, a playground, a giant underground slide, and a ton of other things!

pumpkin patch

we went to jack o lantern lane last saturday with some friends. hannah loooves being with her friends from preschool, hope and nicole and their older sister, maggie. they are really sweet girls and they get along so well. we were there all afternoon and the girls wore themselves out bouncing on the jumpy houses, riding the little train, petting animals, and picking pumpkins. libby loved the train (she got 2 rides, but kept asking for more), the charlie brown cutouts, and the chickens. she also surprised us by climbing up a BIG bouncy house slide and gleefully sliding down, just like a big girl. it's so funny to watch her acting so much older than she actually is. she picked out a cute little pumpkin and kept calling it a "baby" pumpkin. hannah loved grinding the corn; i think she could have done that all day.
