last days of preschool

hannah's preschool graduation was such a special day! all our family was able to come to see the program. the kids sang a few songs, they played a slideshow of pictures, and then the 4 year old class changed into their cap and gowns to get their certificates. hannah was really into dancing to the songs. she looked so cute. and she also had a bible verse to say that she practiced for a month beforehand: love never fails, 1 corinthians 13:8. "corinthians" was quite the word to try to master; it sounded more like "kristian" when she said it. she graduated on a tuesday, but still had two more days of school after that. on wednesday they had a day of water play and on thursday they had a pizza party. after school on the last day, we met up with a few of her friends at a frozen yogurt place. we sure will miss all her preschool friends.

zoo field trip

on may 1st, hannah's class took a trip to the montgomery zoo. i gave her my point and shoot camera and she was really into taking pictures of her friends. made me so proud! we stayed all morning, took a ride on the train and had a picnic lunch. it was a super hot day and i was exhausted when we got home.

18 months

1.5 years old! she is our little goofball, so sweet and cuddly and funny. let me see if i can remember the new things she's doing this month...
gives big hugs and says "awww!" and gives kisses and says "mwah."
her favorite thing is reading. a new favorite is once upon a potty. when we finish a book, she asks us to read it "again."
she's getting better and better at communicating and telling us what she wants / needs. she tells us when she needs a diaper change by saying "shoo," which is the noise i make when changing a stinky diaper.
when i ask her if her meal is good she says "mmhmm." cracks me up every time!
sleeps on a pooh pillow, and holds a stuffed pooh and a stuffed mickey mouse she got for easter.
she loooves to color. unfortunately, the other day she decided to try coloring furniture and books and her hands.
if there's a pillow next to her, she thinks it's funny to pretend to sleep. she shuts her eyes really tight and purses her lips up.
she looks forward to brushing her teeth after her bath.
her favorite movie lately is lady and the tramp, which she asks for by saying "dog movie."

preschool graduation picture

i took pictures of each 4 year old in hannah's class in their caps and gowns today. i wanted to cry seeing them all, looking so grown up and knowing that they'll all be going to different kindergartens. she has known most of these friends since she started going to preschool last year, and kids change a lot from 3 years old to almost 5. i just know i am going to cry and cry and cry when they have their graduation in a week.

visit to mimi and pops

the second weekend of april we had an extended visit in brewton. we all had a nice time and it was nice to be together without having to rush back home, like we usually have to do. the girls had an easter egg hunt, played with sidewalk chalk, swam in the pool and got dressed up for church.
