"nap time"

this pulling up is going to be the death of me. libby now thinks it's play time ALL the time.

we gotta get her mattress lowered this weekend. she also learned to go from on her belly to a sitting up position just last night and has been doing it all day today. she's SO active all of a sudden and never wants to be still. i can't even put her in her jumper or exersaucer anymore.

8 months

libby turned 8 months yesterday. here's some pics i snapped during our busy busy day. she's really been pulling up on her knees and feet over the past few days. yesterday i walked into her room after nap time to find her standing in her crib for the first time - it was quite a surprise! where did my little tiny baby go?

our rainy morning

very rarely do we wake up to the sound of heavy rain and thunder. i was glad for the rain today because we had already planned to have a lazy pajama day. we spent the morning playing in libby's room and i felt like the luckiest girl in the world watching my two beautiful, healthy daughters.

cast off!

very exciting day today that we've been waiting for for 6 weeks - hannah got her cast taken off and the doctor said she was all healed up.

she was such a brave girl while getting it cut off. she told the nurse that she was going to go swimming and asked if she wanted to come with us. she told me that she wants to be a bone doctor and "help mommas, daddies, and little kids with their broken bones to get better." she's very interested in learning about the inside of her body so this afternoon we did what all 21st century parents are lucky to be able to do when their kids show interest in something: we googled it and found lots of videos for kids about how bodies work.

the best artist

i woke up to hannah saying "here's a picture for you, mom." it's a picture of me holding a butterfly in my hand. brilliant, right?!

day with my big girl

me and hannah had an afternoon out today. i wanted to take her to the movies, and cars 2 is the only thing playing for kids. i don't really recommend it for kids hannah's age. there was a surprising amount of shooting and the cars said "kill" and "bomb" and things like that a bit too much for my liking. hopefully she doesn't repeat too much of it or there will be lots of talk about only using our "nice words"! but she always enjoys going to the "movie gator," and she did pretty good with the 3D glasses (though, yes, they are hilariously upside down in this picture!).
