15 months

been meaning to do this post for over a week...
my girl still loves looking at books.

she started walking at 14 months and sloooowly but surely perfected it. while hannah started walking one day and started running the next, libby has been more cautious about it. i love when i'm in the kitchen and i can see her head coming around the corner. she's such a big girl now. 

one trick she loves is blowing raspberries. she also does it on my belly, which always makes me laugh. 

another thing she loves these days is trains. she loves watching thomas the train on tv, and she is always saying "choo-choo." 

her vocabulary is rapidly growing. she follows most direction well. when i show her her favorite 100 words book and ask her questions like "where is the butterfly?" she will point to the right pictures. she can repeat a lot of words. the other day, a commercial on tv was giving out a web address and hannah, for some reason, repeated "dot com." then libby said it several times, so clearly! 

she's napping once a day now, from about 9:30 til 11:30 or noon. 

she loves dogs and other animals. and babies. we were at the neighbors' house today and there was a 6 month old baby laying on her belly, and libby laid there on her belly too and chatted with her for a while.

she loves playing outside on the back porch. she will walk to the back door, reach for the door knob, and whine to go out. like a little puppy!  

she loves music. in the car, she will dance in her car seat and sometimes sing. she claps after every song. 

swinging makes my dreams come true

that is what hannah told me today. she learned how to swing about two weeks ago (her friends at school taught her how to correctly move her legs), and has been obsessed with it lately. we've been at the park a few times since then and she and libby both have stayed on the swings for 30-45 minutes straight each time.

i have to admit that i'm not taking my camera with me much now. i really like the pictures instagram on my iphone takes, and it's so convenient... anyway, hannah loves swinging so much she drew me this picture this morning. it's my new favorite picture she's ever colored. she says it's hannah alien and libby alien swinging at the park.

happy valentine's day

i have lots and lots of love in my life. about 12 hours of my day usually consists of hugs and snuggles (along with snot and poop). ;) here are two of my valentines.

we wrapped the girls up a movie and let them open them this morning. hannah got winnie the pooh, libby got lady and the tramp. hannah and i made oreo truffles yesterday and she took them to school today to share with her friends.

new walker

libby first started taking a few steps at a time on jan. 13th. she went 3-4 steps before dropping back down. a little over a week ago she started doing about 6-7 steps at a time. sunday she walked around the house A LOT. she still prefers crawling, since she's so fast that way, but she is walking around more and more. i love watching these first unsteady steps.

airport field trip

hannah's class has a few fun field trips planned this month. we went to the local airport yesterday. i love being with her class. all the kids are so cute and fun. first a man explained how the fuel up the planes. then they got to sit in one small two-passenger plane, and explore another slightly larger plane. they also got a lesson in how to land a plane.
