the night before her birthday hannah was asking me about when i was pregnant with her. she asked if she liked to snuggle with me when she was in my belly. i said yes, you were very comfortable in there. when we woke up the next morning she laid her head on my belly and said, "i STILL like to snuggle with you." it was one of the sweetest things she could have said. she and i have a special bond. i hope she will want to snuggle with me forever. at 4 years old, i love her more than ever. she's old enough to help me out with little chores and say funny things just to make me laugh. she's kind and loving and silly and smart and beautiful and energetic and girly and just plain wonderful. she's taught me so much, and has made me a better person. there have been some really tough days with hannah. there have been many nights that i've cried and cried, not always knowing if i was doing the right thing. i'm sure there will be many more of those nights to come. but i love her with all my heart. on friday, august 10, 2007 she made me a mom, and i know that it is my most important title. i was born to love her.
we had three 4-year photo shoots! here are some of my favorites.
her birthday was on wednesday. we made a PINK cake that morning and decided to continue the tradition of a movie and ihop that we started last year. but we got to the theater and no kids movies were playing, so we went to ihop, where she got a pancake, one of her favorite things, AND free ice cream from singing waiters. then we went to walk around auburn's campus for as long as we could stand the heat and to toomer's for some lemonade. later at home, we had dinner and a piece of cake, and she got what she wanted for her birthday - a unicorn pillow pet.
